🚶 Ollantaytambo – Pumamarca (Ascent)

We start from the Inca town of Ollantaytambo, walking along its ancient stone streets toward the trailhead. The route follows the Calicanto River and gradually ascends past scenic lookouts and agricultural terraces.

After 2 to 3 hours of hiking, we reach the Pumamarca fortress, an archaeological complex with three-level structures, a main plaza, and strategic military design. We’ll take a guided tour of the site and enjoy a well-earned rest.

⬇️ Pumamarca – Ollantaytambo (Descent)

We return along a restored Inca trail with breathtaking views of the valley and surrounding Andean communities. The descent takes 1 to 2 hours depending on group pace.

You can also choose to drive up to Pumamarca (extra cost: $15 per person), reducing walking time and effort.
