Isn’t there another way to get to MachuPicchu? Yes, there is an other way. You go the back way via Santa Maria/ Santa Teresa by either bus o bike, the scenery is spectacular, and it is even close to our best bike tour (a little bit crowded with traffic, dust and pavement) it is a great way to get to MachuPicchu. Otherwise buses pass in the entras of Ollantaytambo for the other route to Quillabamba (you will get off in Santa Maria) in this different times 10 am, 3 pm and 10 pm for s/ 25.00 -30.00 soles a person. From Santa Maria, you take another bus to Hidroelectrica via Santa Teresa. From there it is a 3 hours walk on the train tracks to Aguas Calientes.
There is a train Service between Hidroelectrica and Aguas Calientes but I recommend walk and enjoy the scenery views around Machu Picchu Mountain following the river, is very easy to walk there it is nearly Flat, but always bring some water and Mosquito repellent, Sun cream, some Snack.

How can I get back to Cusco?
The Easy way is Book this service with Us. prevent confusion with no worried, but You can do that way too. Go to the train station or the main square of Ollantaytambo and there are a variety of taxis and buses that will take you to Cusco. This are mostly white Vans and they pass through the main square. You can go directly to Cuzco through Urubamba. The cheapest way is by the local collectivo, leaving From in front of the market for s/ 1, 50 soles to Urubamba and then from there either in a shared Van for s/ 6,00 Soles per person, or in a share a taxi for s/ 8,00 soles per person. You can also get a shared taxi directly from Ollanta to Cusco it is about s/10.00 – 15.00 Soles per person. In private taxi it is around s/80,00 -100 Soles in total.
What’s about ATM’s? There is one in the main square (globalnet) and another one in the entrance of the hotel Sauce (BCP) which is really close from the main square. You leave the plaza towards the main Ruins and to your right are stairs going up directly to the hotel Sauce.The third one is on the street in front of the market (caja Cuzco).
What about Internet? There are two decent places. The first one is near the main square going towards Patacalle right in the corner. and the second one is right in front of the the market. We offer you WI-FI Internet in our office is free.

Cuales son las opciones de llegar a machupicchu?
Hay tres opciones de poder visitar Machupicchu. Una de ellas es la opción más rápida que es ir en tren hasta Aguas Calientes (Machupicchu Pueblo) pero previa compra de boletos que normal mente es mejor hacerlo con anticipación para evitar contratiempos.

La Segunda opción es ir por la parte de atrás de Machupicchu pasando por la selva alta (Santa Maria y Santa teresa) y disfrutar de un recorrido con diversidad de flora y fauna, para poder tomar este camino tienes que ir en Bus o Minivans. Nosotros tenemos transporte todos los días que salen hacia Santa Maria o Hicho Eléctrica desde la plaza de armas de Ollantaytambo todas las mañanas de 8 a 11 AM, de hecho que es mejor si los boleto lo compras con anticipación y reservas tu asiento, así no tienes que viajar incomodo Te recomiendo tomar un dia extra y quedarte en santa teresa para disfrutar de sus aguas termales de C`ocalmayo que son una maravilla para relajarse antes de visitar Machupicchu, no solo eso también puedes disfrutar de una aventura lleno de adrenalina tomando un tour de ZipLine o canopy que cruzando los valles del cafetal de Santa Teresa (Cola de Mono). Aquí para dormir recomendamos ECOQUECHUA LODGE si quieres quedarte una noche o si busca diferentes opciones puedes buscar por el centro de Santa teresa. Continuando el recorrido tienes que llegar a Hicho Elecctrica desde donde se inicia una caminata de 2 a 3 horas que no es nada difícil a lo contrario se disfruta de vistas panorámicas de todas las montañas que están alrededor del camino. Pero si no quieres caminar puedes tomar el tren desde Hidro Elecctrica hasta aguas caliente que te toma solo 40 minutos, el horario del tren por la tarde es 2 pm y 3pm.

Cuales son mis opciones de llegar a moray / maras / salineras?
Los 2 Sitios arqueológicos son recomendados porque cada lugar tiene su propio atractivo y se disfruta de cada lugar, la opción mas fácil es tomar un taxi privado que te lleve y te espere en cada lugar de esta forma ahora tiempo y puedes visitar otros lugares más.
Si prefieres hacerlo con calma y cuentas con tiempo puedes tomar los colectivos que te lleven desde Ollantaytambo hasta Urubamba y luego cambiar de carro para ir desde Urubamba hasta el desvió de Maras, desde aquí puedes iniciar una caminata hasta maras y luego Moray o Tomar un taxi colectivo que te lleve hasta Moray desde donde puedes iniciar una caminata de 3 a 4 horas dependiendo del ritmo de la caminata rumbo a salineras (Esta caminata es linda lo recomiendo siempre es una de mis favoritas mas si es sobre una bicicleta se disfruta claro que antes seimpre visitando los centro Arqueológico y continuar el recorrido hasta salir a Tarabamba donde puedes tomar un colectivo que te retorne hacia Ollantaytambo o Urubamba.
Free things to do Around Ollantaytambo/ Cosas gratis para hacer alrededor de Ollantaytambo
1 Pinkulluna Mountain: leave the hotel go to the Main Square to your left and go towards town. And enter the first street going to the right. The street is called ”Lari K’ikllu”. You walk about two blocks up the street and there will be a sign and a wooden door on your right, saying PINKULLUNA wich is the entrance to the beautiful ruins. Please be carefull if it had just rained. The stairs could be really slippery.
La forma más fácil de llegar desde el hostal es salier y llegar ala plaza principal de Ollantaytambo y tomar la Calle ”Lari K’ikllu”. Desde la entrada es 5 Minutos caminando desde la plaza siguiendo el canal de agua que te lleva hasta la entrada, donde a 2 cuadras encontraras un letrero con el nombre de PINKULLUNA que es el nombre de la montaña, aquí podrás encontrara un pequeño centro arqueológico con colcas y vistas del pueblo.

Great Picnic spots – very few tourists, no charge to get in and lots of green grass. Go to the plaza and take the Calle Pata calle Street and go in site and starting to go up in the patacancha valley that climb approx. 1 km to the first bridge over the patacancha river. Shortly after it crosses the road, it continues up on a narrow trail up to the ruins of pumamarca. Take the same way down or there is a route that also goes down is the single track, is very recommendable go thru this way too. 2 – 3 hours.
Este parque pre-incas es un excelente lugar como para ir hacer una caminata de medio día y hacer un picnic. Por este valle normalmente van pocos turistas y es gratis no se paga entrada y disfrutas de lo verde colorido por la vegetación. Para empezar esta caminata tienes que dirigirte en dirección de la plaza y tomar la última calle del pueblo antiguo hacia la derecha (Pata calle) y empieza a subir por el cañón del valle patacancha hasta que llegues al primer puente que esta aproximadamente a 1 km cruce el río patacancha y justo cerca hay un desvió que sigue solo el río es un atajo para llegar más rápido y volver a la misma carretera, llegando a pumamarca puedes volver por la otra ruta alterna para hacerlo mas interesante, la camita dura masomenos de 2 a 3 horas ida y vuelta.
