π Ollantaytambo β Socma β Qorisonqo
We begin with private transport from Ollantaytambo to the Socma community, nestled at the base of Apu Qorisonqo. The ride takes about 1 hour.
πΊ Qorisonqo β Markβuray β Raqβaypata
Our hike starts along a community-built circuit showcasing tombs and ancient pottery remains. After a brief descent, we drive to Markβuray to start the trail toward the Inca fortress of Raqβaypata, a site believed to be used for astronomical observations. Weβll pause here for a snack and panoramic views.
π§ Raqβaypata β Perolniyoc Waterfall
The hike continues through a short forest trail for 40 minutes to reach the Perolniyoc waterfall. Along the way, we enjoy various viewpoints until we reach the base of the fall. Weather permitting, thereβs a chance to swim in the natural pool.
πΆ Return to Socma β Ollantaytambo
After enjoying the site, we walk back to the parking area where our transport awaits to return us to Ollantaytambo.
