If you like biking and would like to experience the living culture of the Andes on a bicycle, this trip is for you! A visit to the High Andean communities at 4400 m.a.s.l. where the colorful persists.

Route to visit: Ollantaytambo – Abra Patacancha – Patacancha Community – Hulloc – Marcaccocha – Ñuscapukio

  • Ollantaytambo – Abra Patacancha

We start the tour of approximately 1 hour in our transport leaving Ollantaytambo in the direction of the Patacancha Basin. During the trip we will make stops to take pictures of the landscape, in which the fauna and flora varies due to the change of altitude.

  • Abra Patacancha – Patacancha Community

A beautiful descent by bicycle enjoying the Andean flora and fauna (above 4420 m.a.s.l.) along the road that connects to the community of Patacancha. At our first stop we will have the opportunity to visit a family home, where we will be shown the ancestral techniques of hand weaving called in the Quechua language “Away”. We will have time to learn about these ancestral work processes and techniques, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with their work by buying directly from them.

  • Patacancha – Ollantaytambo (Descent by bicycle)

To continue our adventure we will retake the bikes and begin the descent through the Patacancha Basin, down a slope of 1450 meters, passing through small communities where we will stop to take pictures, enjoy the living culture that can be seen closely along the way. The approximate time of the descent is 1 hour and ends in the Plaza de Armas of Ollantaytambo.
